Barge 2 Beach
The Barge2Beach (2k ocean swim) is scheduled for Saturday, 21 November 2026. This iconic event will have you being dropped off by a whale watch boat “Spirit of Hervey Bay’, 2k’s offshore and swimming back to the finish line at the Hundy Festival precinct, Scarness.

Spectator ‘Spirit of Hervey Bay’ boat ride ticket
$22 – Tickets are available via RACEROSTER or on the day at Whale Bay Marina

Location & Maps
‘Spirit of Hervey Bay’ will transit to GPS marker 2k off shore leaving from Whale Bay Marina, Buccaneer Drive, Urangan.
Race Information
This is a NO SWIM AIDS (flippers, swim buoys etc) event. If you are not confident to complete the swim without swim aids, please do not enter the event.
- 4:30 – 5:30am – Registration at Whale Bay Marina
- 5:45 – 6.15am – Barge transit to GPS marker 2K offshore
- 6:30am – Swim start

Please note there will be a bag drop on the vessel and it is recommended that you keep your gear to a minimum. Your gear will not beat you back to the Hundy Festival precinct in Scarness, so please consider carefully what you choose to leave in your bag on the vessel.
